Why a bottle from Florida starts in New Zealand

Perna canaliculus, the green-lipped mussel, grows nowhere else on earth in the quantities this takes.

It is farmed in the Marlborough Sounds, at the top of New Zealand's South Island, and it needs about eighteen months in the water before the oil is worth extracting. The extract, PCSO-524, is drawn off without solvents, shipped to Fort Lauderdale to be formulated and bottled, and then brought here.

That is a long way to go for one ingredient, and it is most of the reason the product costs what it does. It is also more than most supplement labels can tell you about where anything in the bottle came from.

Where can I buy OmegaXL in Trinidad and Tobago?

At a pharmacy, not from us. Open Find a Pharmacy, pick your region or type your town, and you will get a list with a phone number for each one. Ring before you drive, because stock moves and no pharmacy holds every product all the time.

How much does it cost?

That is genuinely up to the pharmacy. We supply them, we do not price for them, and the same bottle can differ by a good margin between two shops in the same town. The pharmacy you call will quote you on the spot, which is another reason the call is worth making.

Can I order online, or buy directly from XL Health TT?

Not today. We are a distributor, so every bottle we import goes to a registered pharmacy rather than into a courier bag. That means a pharmacist has handled it, which is how you know what you are buying is the real thing. We are looking at an online option, so this may change. Until it does, use the pharmacy finder, or call the office on 225-0410 if there is nothing listed near you.

How do I know I am not getting a fake?

Buy it at a pharmacy. Registered pharmacies buy from us, we buy from the manufacturer, and that chain is short enough to stand behind. Anything sold from a car boot, a marketplace listing or a cross-border shipping site did not come through us.

Is OmegaXL sold anywhere else in the region?

What is the green-lipped mussel, and why New Zealand?

The active ingredient is PCSO-524, a lipid extract of Perna canaliculus, a mussel farmed in the Marlborough Sounds at the top of New Zealand's South Island. It needs roughly eighteen months in the water, and the oil is drawn off without solvents. There is no shortcut and no local substitute, which is why the product travels as far as it does.
